Marvel’s Avengers would have She-Hulk and Captain Marvel as playable characters

Update (01/26/2023) – GS

Earlier this week, developer Crystal Dynamics announced that it will be ending support for new content for Marvel’s Avengers soon, as well as removing the game from digital stores and making all cosmetic items offered within the in-game store free.

Despite its troubled trajectory, the game has received a slew of new content since its launch, including new campaigns and playable characters such as Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Jane Foster, Black Panther, Winter Soldier and Spider-Man (PlayStation exclusive). , but it looks like two other heroes might have been part of the pantheon of characters before the game’s end of support.

In December 2021, rumors indicated that She-Hulk might arrive in the game in the form of DLC, but unfortunately, this never happened.

This week, a dataminer named Miller took a look at the game’s files and confirmed that plans to launch She-Hulk were indeed scrapped, but in addition to her, Captain Marvel might also have made it to the game.

Miller shared the file with unused dialogue that was hidden in Patch 2.7.2 (released January 24), where we can hear Jane Foster interacting with She-Hulk (Jennifer Walters) and Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers).

The dialogue for these two characters was completely written, but only appeared in the game as a “text-to-voice” file, although the dataminer indicates that part of She-Hulk’s dialogue was recorded by the actress who would voice the character in July last year.

One of the dialogue snippets shows Jane telling Jennifer that Thor and Bruce Banner challenged them to a fight, pitting the two Thors once morest the two Hulks, with Captain America as judge. Another snippet shows Jennifer proposing an Avengers softball team, as she used to play on one at her law firm before leaving for “obvious reasons.”

As for Captain Marvel’s dialogue, Carol asks Jane if the Asgardians are aliens or gods, to which she replies “yes”. The two also joke regarding a race to Egypt, and plan a “round trip” to Saturn. The other conversations can be seen in Miller’s full thread.

Do you think releasing these characters would have helped the game stay alive longer?

Marvel’s Avengers: She-Hulk might be the next character to come to the game via DLC

Marvel’s Avengers was certainly one of the most controversial games in the history of Square Enix, leaving thousands of fans disappointed with the result of the partnership that had everything to be a great success.

Since launch, Square has tried to compensate fans through free DLCs, which offer additional campaigns with new characters and extend the life of the game. The last such content was a PlayStation exclusive, bringing Spider-Man into the game, but once once more the game was the subject of complaints, both for the in-game character and the lack of a dedicated campaign for him.

If you thought that Spidey was the final chapter of the game, it looks like the studio still plans to keep the title active for a while longer.

According to an insider on Twitter, She-Hulk might be the next DLC character in the game. The source is the same one who claimed that Christopher Judge was involved in the Black Panther DLC, before this was officially confirmed.

According to the insider, actress Krizia Bajos will voice Jennifer Walters in the game, but the information gained even more strength when Bajos herself retweeted the information with a green heart, which is practically a confirmation.

Considering that Marvel is regarding to launch a She-Hulk series on Disney Plus, the character’s arrival in the game would be a great way to promote it, but are fans looking forward to it?
