Launched in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to draw audiences to theaters, even following 27 movies. Not all of them are equally successful, but some of the feature films are now among the highest-grossing films of all time.

In an interview with The Times, the actor said that all films had the right of citizenshipand that it is not because the preferences of the spectators go towards this or that genre that a feature film is less legitimate than another :

All films are valid (in the legitimate sense, editor’s note). Some go to the movies to get emotional dearly. Some like superheroes. If someone has more viewers, it just means your audience isn’t as large (as you thought). There are people who have had successful careers but no one can recite a single line from their roles. (…)

According to the actor, who has participated in mainstream films as well as Oscar-nominated productionssimply believes that there is different types of success, and that there is an audience for every proposition. Sometimes the public is very widely affected and moves massively to the cinema, sometimes less.
