Marvel: Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) rewrites his dialogues! – Cinema news

Samuel L. Jackson, famous for his role as Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has just revealed how the character’s dialogues were written. And it is sometimes surprising!

Since 2008 and the first Iron Man, he has been one of the leading figures in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his role as Nick Fury. Him, it is obviously the American actor Samuel L. Jackson, who has just lifted the veil behind the scenes of the writing of his character.

In an interview granted to the Collider siteSamuel L. Jackson declares that most of the time, he is fully satisfied with the work done by the scriptwriters concerning the dialogues of the ddirector of SHIELD But that, sometimes, he finds fault and… writes them himself!

“I’ve played Nick Fury for so long that I know how he is, how he thinks and how he feels”says Samuel L. Jackson. “I know that the writers are at home and write regarding the character. If they’re the superhero type, they know how to do it. I’ve worked with directors who had written comic books, and when they say ” Say it the way I wrote it, “I go out there and say the lines in comic-book mode.”

“And then there are the directors who are going to say to me, ‘Say it like Nick Fury would say it’ or ‘Say it like you in Nick Fury would say it’, which is like saying ‘Say it like Jules in Pulp Fiction or like Ordell in Jackie Brown, or like any of those smartass characters you’ve played before. They want me to help them.continues the actor. “And I can also accept this way of working.”

Samuel L. Jackson then unveils a third more… personal approach. “There are also times, when I’m working on my lines for the next day or for the scene we’re shooting, during which I say to myself, ‘The scriptwriter knows what he wants to say, but he mightn’t do it, so I’m going to help him”, and then I’m the one who writes the dialogues.”

“The next day I walk in and pull the person aside and say, ‘Look, I know you wrote that, but Nick Fury can say it in a better way.concludes the actor. “And they’re like, ‘Oh, my God. You’re right, and that’s normal, you’re Nick Fury!”

Want to see Samuel L. Jackson once more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Rest assured: the actor, recently headlining the Apple TV + series The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, will soon find his character Nick Fury in two films and a series!
