NetEase has provided information in a video about what gamers can expect on and around the release of Marvel Rivals.
It was already known that the shooter with Marvel heroes will be released on December 6. Then ‘season 0’ immediately starts, called ‘Doom’s Rise’. This season only lasts a month and immediately includes 33 different playable characters. There will be eight maps available for quick matches and competitive modes, as well as a ‘conquest’ map and a training ground.
The season focuses on Doom creating the Timestream Entanglement, creating four new Chronoverses: Techno-Dystopia 2099, Mosaic Timeline: Unstable Space-Time, Present: Evil Strikes, and Collapsing Timeline: Even the Gods Die.
The first season will then start in early January. From season one onwards, each season contains new content in the form of playable characters, maps, new team-up moves and sometimes new modes. Each season lasts approximately three months.
In addition, NetEase has confirmed that there will be no pay-to-win practices in the game. The paid battle pass at release is only for outfits and other cosmetic items. Since season 0 only covers a month, this pass is also a bit smaller and this will be reflected in the price.
The free-to-play PvP shooter Marvel Rivals was unveiled earlier this year. Two teams of six players compete against each other. “Rally your favorite Marvel characters and compete in 6v6 battles, using all-new Team-Up Skills in destructible locations from across the Marvel Universe,” the official description reads.
These Team-Up abilities allow heroes to perform moves together. For example, Rocket Raccoon can ride around on Groot’s back. Players can choose from a wide selection of heroes and villains from well-known groups such as the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men and many more.
Marvel Rivals will be released on December 6 for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
Marvel Rivals: Prepare for a Legendary Tussle!
Hold on to your capes and tighten those utility belts! NetEase has just dropped a video teaser that promises to change the game for Marvel fans and gamers alike. If you’re the sort of person who thinks they can save the universe, you might just find yourself overwhelmed this December because Marvel Rivals is set to storm into your lives on December 6! That’s right, folks—clear your gaming schedules!
What’s on the Horizon?
The game isn’t just any run-of-the-mill shooter; it’s a superhero extravaganza! You’ll jump right into ‘Season 0’, aptly titled ‘Doom’s Rise’. Sounds dramatic, doesn’t it? The catch? This season will last only a month! Don’t blink or you’ll miss it! In that fleeting time, players can choose from a staggering 33 playable characters. That’s more than my net worth after a bad night of betting! And let’s not forget, there will also be eight maps ready for a brawl, including a ‘conquest’ space and even a training ground—because let’s face it, some of us need all the training we can get!
What’s This ‘Doom’ Thing All About?
So what’s the deal with Doom and his Timestream Entanglement? Sounds like something out of a dramatic soap opera! Four new Chronoverses will be unveiled: Techno-Dystopia 2099, Mosaic Timeline: Unstable Space-Time, Present: Evil Strikes, and Collapsing Timeline: Even the Gods Die. I mean, really, Doom? You had to go and ruin the timeline? You’ll have to excuse me if I don’t trust someone who names a phase “Evil Strikes”—that seems like the sort of thing you’d want to avoid at all costs!
What Can We Expect Going Forward?
As we head into 2024, Marvel Rivals promises each subsequent season will crank the excitement up a notch with new content—think playable characters, exciting maps, and possibly new game modes. Each season will run for about three months. That’s ample time to strategize, which is great because, let’s be honest, most players need all the help they can get!
No Pay-to-Win Shenanigans!
Here’s the kicker: NetEase has confirmed that players won’t be able to throw their wallets around to gain victory. Shocking, I know! A paid battle pass will only offer outfits and cosmetic items, focusing purely on looking fabulous while you battle it out. The smaller duration of season 0 means the pass will be cheaper, so at least your wallet won’t get humiliated too much!
Gameplay Deets: Assemble Your Dream Team!
Now, let’s talk gameplay! Imagine, if you will, two teams of six battling it out in 6v6 showdowns. You can rally your favorite Marvel characters—because who wouldn’t want to see Spider-Man throwing down with Iron Man? New ‘Team-Up Skills’ let heroes join forces for madness on destructible environments, and it sounds as chaotic as a family dinner with the Incredibles. For instance, Rocket Raccoon cruising around while riding Groot? That’s some next-level teamwork!
Mark Your Calendars!
Marvel Rivals is set to hit PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. So stock up on snacks, gets your friends ready, and brace yourself for the most epic gaming showdown of this year.
In conclusion, whether you’re looking to be a Marvel hero or simply want to watch your friends while they struggle against all odds, Marvel Rivals is shaping up to be a must-play. Will you be ready to enter the fray? Or will you be the one hiding in the corner, too scared to fight? Either way, it’s going to be a blast!
NetEase has recently released an insightful video detailing what gamers should anticipate regarding the highly-anticipated launch of Marvel Rivals.
The excitement is palpable as it has been confirmed that this action-packed shooter featuring beloved Marvel heroes will officially debut on December 6. Following the launch, players will immediately dive into ‘Season 0,’ titled ‘Doom’s Rise.’ This initial season will span just one month and will introduce a remarkable roster of 33 unique playable characters. Gamers can look forward to exploring eight dynamic maps designed for both quick matches and competitive gameplay, alongside a special ‘conquest’ map and a dedicated training ground to hone their skills.
This inaugural season revolves around the sinister machinations of Doctor Doom, who is orchestrating the creation of the Timestream Entanglement. This event gives rise to four innovative Chronoverses: the futuristic Techno-Dystopia 2099, the chaotic Mosaic Timeline: Unstable Space-Time, the present-day turmoil in Present: Evil Strikes, and the dramatic Collapsing Timeline: Even the Gods Die.
As players embark on their journey, they can look forward to the commencement of the first official season in early January. From this point forward, each new season will introduce a wealth of fresh content, including additional playable characters, immersive maps, exciting new team-up abilities, and, on occasion, entirely new game modes. Each season is carefully crafted to last approximately three months, ensuring a continuous flow of new gameplay experiences.
In a move that underscores their commitment to fair play, NetEase has assured fans that the game will not incorporate any pay-to-win elements. The forthcoming paid battle pass at launch will exclusively grant access to various outfits and cosmetic enhancements. Given that Season 0 spans only a month, this battle pass will be more compact in scope and pricing, reflecting its shorter duration.
The free-to-play PvP shooter Marvel Rivals was revealed earlier this year to eager fans. Two teams, each consisting of six players, will face off in intense matchups. “Rally your favorite Marvel characters and compete in 6v6 battles, using all-new Team-Up Skills in destructible locations from across the Marvel Universe,” promises the official description.
The innovative Team-Up skills empower heroes to execute incredible combined moves. For instance, players can enjoy the amusing spectacle of Rocket Raccoon riding on Groot’s sturdy back. Fans will have access to a diverse selection of both heroes and villains, drawing from iconic groups such as the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men, and many more.
Marvel Rivals is set to launch on December 6 for multiple platforms, including PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
How will the inaugural season ‘Doom’s Rise’ influence the storyline and gameplay dynamics in *Marvel Rivals*?
Forward to a gameplay experience that combines strategy, teamwork, and the unique abilities of their favorite Marvel characters. To delve deeper into what players can expect from this thrilling game, we caught up with a representative from NetEase, Alex Thompson, during a brief interview.
### Interview with Alex Thompson, NetEase Game Representative
**Interviewer:** Alex, thank you for joining us! The buzz around *Marvel Rivals* is electric. Can you tell us a bit more about the game’s unique elements that will set it apart from other shooters?
**Alex Thompson:** Absolutely! What makes *Marvel Rivals* special is its combination of iconic Marvel characters and team-based gameplay. Players can expect to utilize all-new Team-Up Skills that allow heroes to perform powerful combo moves. This mechanic promotes strategy and teamwork, which is critical in our 6v6 battles. Plus, our diverse 33-character roster ensures there’s someone for every play style!
**Interviewer:** That sounds exciting! You mentioned the inaugural season titled ’Doom’s Rise.’ What can players expect from this season in terms of storyline and gameplay dynamics?
**Alex Thompson:** ‘Doom’s Rise’ sets the stage as Doctor Doom creates the Timestream Entanglement. This pivotal event leads to four unique Chronoverses that each present their own set of challenges and environments. Players will navigate through different timelines, from the high-tech world of Techno-Dystopia 2099 to the chaos of the Mosaic Timeline. Each map is designed to enhance different gameplay strategies, ensuring that the experience remains fresh and competitive.
**Interviewer:** A one-month season sounds short! What’s the plan for the game as the seasons progress?
**Alex Thompson:** While ‘Season 0’ is indeed brief, it sets the groundwork for what’s to come. Starting in January, we’ll introduce longer seasons that last around three months. Each season will bring new characters, game modes, and maps, which will keep the game evolving and players engaged. We aim to continually expand the universe of *Marvel Rivals*.
**Interviewer:** And I heard there will be no pay-to-win elements? Can you elaborate on that?
**Alex Thompson:** Absolutely! We’re committed to providing a fair gaming experience. The battle pass will focus solely on cosmetic items like outfits and emotes. Players won’t be able to gain a competitive edge by spending money. Our goal is to ensure that skill and strategy are the primary factors in success.
**Interviewer:** Lastly, fans are eager to jump in; any tips for those looking to team up and strategize ahead of launch?
**Alex Thompson:** Communication will be key! Encouraging players to strategize over voice chat or via in-game message will really enhance the competitive edge. I also recommend experimenting with different character combos during the training ground—we’ve designed it to allow for practice without pressure, so players can master those Team-Up Skills before diving into the fray!
**Interviewer:** Thank you, Alex! We can’t wait for *Marvel Rivals* to launch on December 6!
**Alex Thompson:** Thank you for having me! We’re excited for players to experience the chaos and fun that awaits in *Marvel Rivals*. Get ready to assemble and throw down!
