Inter Milan, the club’s and Italian champions, have been told by young striker Lautaro Martinez not to play in Argentina’s remaining World Cup qualifiers. Inter have demanded that he not join the Argentina squad for this month’s qualifiers.
Inter Milan officials say the remaining matches are unimportant for Argentina, who have already qualified for the World Cup, but that Inter have crucial matches in March-April, so the club need more of the player’s services.
