After the St-Hubert rotisseries, the Martin Group wants to develop the Harvey’s banner in the Quebec region, with six openings planned in the next five years.
This project is led by the 3rd generation of the Martin family, which includes six young professionals aged 28 to 31. The group has just acquired the two Harvey’s restaurants in Quebec, the one on L’Ormière Boulevard and the other on Clemenceau Street in Beauport. The Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré restaurant already belongs to the company.
The grilled burger specialist already had up to 13 branches in the region in the 1990s. The Martin Group wants to revive the glory days of the fast food chain.

Given that the St-Hubert and Harvey’s rotisseries are part of the Recettes Illimitées (formerly Cara) family, the opportunity to combine forces in this project presented itself naturally.
“We like the product and we see the development potential of the Harvey’s brand. It’s a brand that has perhaps been a little less known in recent years, but we want to work to make it known,” said Gabrielle Martin, director of human resources.
According to William Martin, director of operations, Harvey’s offers a unique product with burgers cooked on the grill and served to the customer’s taste.
Fallen in the potion
The restaurant on Boulevard L’Ormière will be renovated to bring it up to date. As for that of Beauport, some improvements will also be made.
It must be said that the members of the 3rd generation of this family of Quebec restaurateurs fell into the magic potion when they were little.
“We were born into it. We started working in St-Hubert restaurants when we were 14. Seeing our parents so passionate regarding catering gave us the desire to go there too. Everyone studied in different fields, so when we work together, we will find our strengths as a team,” continued Gabrielle, who is William’s cousin.
“The six members of the 3rd generation, we realized how lucky we were to work together. We get along well and it’s a pleasure renewed every day. We have lots of challenges that excite us, but we don’t feel the pressure, because we know that we support each other,” said William.
The opening of new Harvey’s will be determined as location opportunities arise.
“There are already certain sectors that we are looking at and which are very interesting for Harvey’s. We’re on the lookout. As soon as there is a possibility, we look at it,” he said.
The Martin family now owns 11 St-Hubert rotisseries and three Harvey’s restaurants which employ a total of nearly 1,200 people in the greater Quebec City region.
