Olympique de Marseille continued to chase Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the French league standings, following winning a difficult 2-1 victory over its Alex Reed, Lille, at the “Velodrum” stadium, in the seventh round of the competition.
Lille advanced first in the 12th minute through Ismael, but Marseille scored two goals by Alexis Sanchez and Samuel Gigo in the 26th and 61st minutes.
Marseille raised its score to 19 points to come second in the table behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain, with a goal difference only.
On the other hand, Lille’s balance froze at 10 points in sixth place.
Paris Saint-Germain had defeated Brest Stadium with a goal in the same round earlier in the day.
Saint-Germain owes this victory to its Brazilian player Neymar, who scored the game’s only goal in the 30th minute.
