A club official told AFP that the 33-year-old had signed a one-year contract.

The striker arrived at Marseille airport on Tuesday evening, amid a raucous welcome from local fans, following Inter released him on Monday following two seasons in the Italian league, knowing that his contract expires next year and he got rid of an annual salary of seven million euros.

Marseille came second in the French league last season and qualified for the Champions League, but then the Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli – who coached Chile previously – was replaced by former Croatia defender Igor Teodor, who started his career with a 4-1 victory over Reims in the opening stage on Sunday. the missed.

Marseille will be the sixth European club in Sanchez’s career following the Italian Udinese, Barcelona, ​​Arsenal and Manchester United and Inter.

The player has defended the colors of Inter since 2019, first on loan from United before signing for the Italian team, with whom he won four titles, including the league title in 2021. But last season he participated mainly in only nine matches.
