Marsa Maroc’s Net Profit Share of the Group (RNGP) amounted to 433 million dirhams (MDH) at the end of June 2023, up 12.7% compared to a year earlier.
In a press release on its indicators for the first half of 2023, Marsa Maroc reports overall traffic of 27.2 million tonnes (MT), up 8.4% compared to the first half of 2022.
This level of activity results from the increase in containerized traffic of 19% to 1,214 KTEU (twenty-foot equivalent), explains the same source, noting that bulk and miscellaneous traffic was established at the same level as at the end of the first half of 2022 at 14.1 MT.
It also results from the increase in solid bulk traffic which stood at 8.5 MT, marking an increase of 11%, while liquid bulk traffic fell to 4.6 MT and conventional traffic at 1.03MT
Thanks to this increase in the volume of traffic processed by 8.4%, Marsa Maroc achieved a consolidated turnover of more than 2.1 billion dirhams (MMDH) as of June 30, 2023, an increase of 6.3% per year. compared to the same period of the previous year.
In addition, the press release indicates that the Gross Operating Surplus (EBE) stood at 1.03 billion dirhams, an increase of 6.5% compared to the same period of the previous year thanks to the increase in turnover in parallel with a limited increase in operating expenses of 3.5%.
And to conclude that the operating profit reached 768 MDH, an increase of 11.5%.
