Mars Bleu: fight once morest colorectal cancer
As part of Mars Bleu, month of fight once morest colorectal cancer, in Guyana, all the partners of the Regional Cancer Screening Coordination Center of Guyana (CRCDC-Guyane) call on everyone, the general public and health professionals, to mobilize to promote this reliable and efficient screening which can save lives.
Mars Bleu is thus an opportunity to remind people of the danger of colorectal cancer and the opportunity that screening offers to improve the chances of cure and reduce the burden of treatment. So, if you are between 50 and 74 years old, ask your doctor and pharmacist for the test or order your test!
Colorectal cancer is the 2nd most common cancer and remains the 2nd deadliest cancer today in France, with nearly 47,000 new cases diagnosed and 17,100 deaths per year. This screening is still too little carried out in France and in our region: participation in 2022/2023 is only 34.3% in France, compared to 10.41% in Guyana.
This result remains well below the European recommendations which recommend a rate of 65%.
