During this trip, he took four people, including three female students, for a competition related to his course.
During the trip, the assistant US attorney argued that he had sex with the child in the hotel room. When the court asked if everything the prosecutor said was true, the teacher tearfully replied yes. The prosecution sought a 13-year jail term for having sex with a minor. The judge declined to make an immediate decision on punishment.
The judge also said that he will take a decision when he hears the sentence. Attorney Jonathan Rose stated that the teacher’s belief and the benefit of being a minor proved that the boy was lured into engaging in illegal sexual activity.
