2024-01-25 15:33:47

This 17th edition offers a reflection on spirituality in dance, seen as an individual mystical quest and a collective celebration.

The press release explains that the festival, supported by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, returns a few months following the earthquake which hit the province of Al Haouz and Marrakech in September 2023. In tribute to the resilience and at the renewal of Marrakech, the theme of spirituality will be highlighted through the series “A work, a heritage”. Every day, contemporary dance works will be presented in different historic monuments of the city, celebrating its exceptional heritage and rich history.

The press release highlights that the festival will offer shows, performances, workshops, conferences and meetings with artists in various emblematic places in Marrakech, accessible free of charge thanks to the support of numerous partners. These events will take place in venues such as the Bahia Palace, Menara Gardens, French Institute and others.

The festival will also host the 2nd edition of the Forum on the place of dance in the Moroccan intellectual space, as well as the Taklîf Prize, intended to promote a new generation of choreographers. Dance companies from various countries, including Morocco, Jordan, Palestine, Tunisia, will be present.
