In a joint press release from BAM, the Morocco Mobile Payment Group “GP2M” and the Digital Development Agency (ADD) indicated that as part of the implementation of the mobile payment roadmap, major lever of the national financial inclusion strategy, Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) has set up, in collaboration with the mobile payment ecosystem, an institutional communication strategy aimed at supporting the implementation of payment mobile.

This strategy aims to establish the credibility of this new means of payment and public confidence in its use, popularize the uses of mobile payment and promote the brand name “MarocPay” to the general public.

The “GP2M”, whose implementation of institutional communication is one of its main missions, has developed media content consisting of several TV capsules and radio spots produced, in a didactic and simplified way, accompanied by practical cases for better information. around mobile payment.

Similarly, the ADD, as a stakeholder in the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion and within the framework of the implementation of its action plan relating in particular to the development of digital inclusion, proceeded to signature of a partnership agreement with the “GP2M” in order to help broaden the distribution of the media for this institutional communication with a view to promoting and accelerating the adoption of mobile payment at the national level.

Thus, and in application of the provisions of this agreement, the ADD and the GP2M launched from October 03, 2022, a media campaign (dissemination of the aforementioned TV capsules and radio spots), planned for a period of 3 months, dedicated to promoting mobile payment and the MarocPay brand to the general public.

And to recall that according to statistics published by Bank Al-Maghrib at the end of 2021, 19 M-Wallets offers were present on the market, including 13 issued by payment institutions totaling an outstanding amount of more than 6.3 million M- wallets issued.
