Market Traders Already Selling Minyakita Above HET Before HET Increase, Residents Object – 2024-07-24 01:45:07

SOME time ago, the Minister of Trade (Mendag), Zulkifli Hasan officially announced the increase in the Highest Retail Price (HET) of Minyakita which increased to IDR 15,700 from the previous price of IDR 14,000.

Based on monitoring Indonesian Media In one of the traditional markets in West Jakarta, it was found that a number of traders did not reduce sales.

“Sales have not decreased,” said Sri (not her real name), one of the traders at the traditional market, when met on Sunday (21/7).

In fact, he revealed that he had sold Minyakita above the HET before Minyakita’s HET was increased.

“It has been selling at a price of Rp. 16,000 since yesterday,” he said.

Meanwhile, Desi, a resident of Cengkareng, West Jakarta, stated that she likes to buy Minyakita for Rp. 17,000 at a grocery store near her house.

“The price is Rp. 17,000, buy it at a shop near here,” he added when met.

He also admits that he actually has objections to the price of Minyakita that he used to buy.

“The objection is in terms of price,” he concluded.

Previously, Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan said that the HET for people’s cooking oil or MinyaKita of Rp15,700 per liter was already in effect. The legal umbrella in the form of the Minister of Trade Regulation on the latest HET for MinyaKita was also said to be enacted next week.

“The price of Rp15,700 has been in effect, later on, there will certainly be an official regulation of trade,” said Zulkifli after inaugurating the Ministry of Trade’s Porseni in Jakarta, Friday, (19/7). (Z-3)
