Mark Zuckerberg was ridiculed for weak graphics in Horizon Worlds, and he promised to update the platform

Mark Zuckerberg stated that Meta* planned to roll out “major update” virtual reality platform Horizon Worlds following he posted an image of his avatar and was ridiculed by the public for its poor quality graphics. He promised to share the details at the upcoming Connect conference.

Mr. Zuckerberg decided to show off the launch of the Horizon Worlds platform in France and Spain and posted a screenshot showing his 3D avatar once morest the backdrop of two of the largest landmarks in the two countries – the Eiffel Tower and the Sagrada Familia located in Barcelona. The image quickly took on a life of its own on Twitter: people found the low resolution and amateur-level graphics amusing. As a result, the public began to wonder how Zuckerberg’s avatar might turn out so lifeless, because billions of dollars.

The head of the target* did not make excuses, but admitted that the picture he published was “pretty simple” and promised to improve the project. Subsequently, he published other renderings: his own avatar in much higher quality, as well as some ancient ruins in the open. And in general, he noted that the graphics in Horizon Worlds “improving very fast”.

* It is included in the list of public associations and religious organizations in respect of which the court has made a final decision to liquidate or ban activities on the grounds provided for by Federal Law No. 114-FZ of July 25, 2002 “On countering extremist activity”.
