According to Meta leaders, businesses will launch the service of selling green ticks on Instagram and Facebook this week. This service will provide users with an account verification tick and enjoy a higher quality of customer care.

“The new feature will increase the authenticity and security of our services,” Zuckerberg said.

Also according to the CEO of Meta, the service will cost 11,99 USD/month if paying via web version and 14,99 USD/month if paying on iOS. The service will be launched first in Australia and New Zealand before rolling out in more countries.

A few days ago, programmer Alessandro Paluzzi shared with TechCrunch, he discovered command lines in the Instagram and Facebook applications that show that these two social networks are planning to sell green ticks to authenticate accounts.

Later, many users also discovered a link to the introduction of the paid account verification service in the Instagram Support Center section.

According to the introduction, Meta Verified (the name of the paid green tick service of Meta – the parent company of Facebook and Instagram) is a service for personal and professional accounts in accordance with the requirements of the platform. Business accounts cannot currently register to use this service.

The benefits of the service may change over time to improve the user experience. Once the user has completed the authentication on Instagram, the account will enjoy benefits including green ticks, enhanced customer care, priority display of comments, priority suggestions to other users as well. like many other features.

The introduction also states that a green tick when purchased on Instagram will not be converted to a Facebook account. If a user has multiple Instagram accounts, each account will have to pay its own monthly fee for green ticks and associated utilities.

Instagram has not announced the monthly fee of the authentication green tick service. The application’s introduction regarding this service also states that it has not been provided to the Vietnamese market.

Currently, it is not easy to register for account authentication and receive green ticks on Instagram. There have even appeared black markets selling Instagram green ticks, where users have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to buy authentication stamps.

In the fourth quarter of 2022, Twitter has launched a service to buy green ticks to authenticate accounts for 8-months.11 USD/month. This is one of the ambitious plans that billionaire Elon Musk implemented following acquiring this social network.

However, when deployed, Twitter’s service was considered a “disaster” by both users and customers when it created a wave of fake accounts that bought authentic green ticks to spread fake news and conspiracy theories. .
