Every week a new face on the edge of the ORF parquet: this time’s guest judge Mark Seibert was a competitive dancer himself when he was young, before “dancing was replaced by my love of musicals,” as he says. He has already played countless major musical roles, whether in “Tanz der Vampire”, “Wicked”, “We Will Rock You”, “Mozart!” or “Elizabeth”. The 44-year-old German, who is currently being applauded in “Rebecca” at Vienna’s Raimund Theater, might well imagine taking part in “Dancing Stars” as a candidate: “I think the show is really great and would like to take on the challenge. In terms of time, that would certainly not be easy to implement, because you don’t do such a job on the side and I’m very lucky that I’m always quite well booked. But maybe it will come up in the future. I’d like to do that,” admits Seibert.
Under the motto “Magic Moments”, the six remaining couples were able to choose songs that left a lasting impression on their lives. Freestyle was announced!
How did Mark Seibert put his jury function aside? Maria Angelini-Santner and Balázs Ekker at? “I emphasize what particularly catches my eye. Good and not so good. First and foremost, as a spectator, or even a juror, I want to be touched or carried away by the dances,” he explained in an interview with the little one Newspaper.
To Lucas Fendrich said Seibert following his performance of his own song “Don’t Hate Me for the Good Times”: “I particularly liked the change between dance and acting scenes.” His colleague Missy May Scattering roses following “Creep” (dedicated to her daughter) wasn’t difficult: “Everyone here felt the emotions. It was a magic moment!”
“Highly emotionally charged,” even Balazs notes. Nevertheless, Mirjam Weichselbraun picked him up once more: “Missy and Dimitar sleep with teddy bears, you sleep with a brick!”
May was second in the jury evaluation (with 31 points including group dance) – behind Kamper (33) and ahead of Klebow. Jury bottom light: Eveline Eseleböck (15). Penultimate on the jury: Alexander Pointner. The ex-ski eagle trainer is allowed to continue dancing.
Musicians had to go Lucas Fendrich. He was ahead of Eselböck and Pointer by the jury, but received too few calls or SMS from the TV audience.
“A touching, sweet story,” Seibert judged Eveline Eselböck’s performance of “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything” (the song of her first date with her Walter). “I immediately faded out Ca-Cha-Cha , following I saw the first step”, the restaurateur had to hear from Balázs.
Alexander Pointner & Manuela Stöckl chose “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. “Too little tact” for Balazs. The mood is completely different Corinna Kamper. When she said “I wish you might see that,” the motorsport expert thought of a friend she lost when she was young.
Mark Seibert can be seen in “Rebecca” for quite a while. Does he already know what comes next? “The plans for the time following that are not yet concrete. But I will probably plan a little more time for traveling with my family, because that was clearly not enough in the last year,” says the crowd favorite.
