“Martin, my only friend” – this is how Mark Keller greets the “mountain doctor”. The actor, born in 1965 in Überlingen on Lake Constance, has been in front of the camera with Hans Sigl at the Wilder Kaiser for 16 years. Keller plays the lovable and eccentric hospital doctor Alexander Kahnweiler. Filming for the 17th Bergdoktor season begins in May “Some marriages don’t last that long,” smiles Mark Keller in an interview with Eva Rottensteiner on “Auf ein Wort”.

“My Little Happiness”

Although acting is his profession, he is also known from series such as “Stars of the South”, Cobra 11 or Tatort, but he also has a great voice. In February 2023, he released his first German-language solo album, “Mein kleine Glück” – fulfilling a lifelong dream.

Mark Keller sings chansons and hits or swings in the style of the old crooners like Dean Martin, one of his great role models alongside Udo Jürgens, who encouraged him on his way. For the album, Mark Keller covered a Udo Jürgens title with his son Aaron in a duet.

I’m going to tell you

His great luck

He describes it as very lucky that he gets along so well with his sons Aaron (30) and Joshua (27). He always spent a lot of time with them, even when he was busy with work. That’s more important to him than all the money in the world, says Mark Keller. Recently, however, the boys have had to share his affection with Cooperle, a Maltese poodle that he has a real crush on.

Mark Keller grew up with his grandparents, his mother died when he was very small. The only memory of her is a photo that he always has with him. But his childhood on Lake Constance was a very happy and sheltered one, he says. He learned from his grandmother to enjoy the simple things in life.
