Maritime UMK Contributes to National Economic Growth

‘Developing Great Maritimepreneur Pelindo 2024’ training (Doc)

MICRO AND SMALL ENTERPRISES (MSEs) in the maritime sector play a role in national economic growth. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo held a training program ‘Developing Great Maritimepreneur Pelindo 2024’, as an effort to support the development of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in the maritime sector. This training aims to improve the competence and skills of MSEs in the fields of entrepreneurship, packaging, and support sustainable MSE development programs. The activity was held at Pelindo Tower, in collaboration with PT Cahaya Abadi Berkarya (CABERA).

“A total of 65 selected UMK groups from 500 UMKs that registered, participated in the training program. They are UMK groups that passed the selection from representatives of the Head Office, Regional Offices 1, 2, 3,” said the Department Head of Social and Environmental Responsibility of PT Pelindo, Febrianto Zenny, quoted Sunday (11/8).

It is explained that this training is part of Pelindo’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, which contributes to the empowerment of the community’s economy, especially in the maritime sector. Through the TJSL program, Pelindo seeks to improve the welfare of the community around its operational areas by providing ongoing support for MSMEs, including training, mentoring, and market access.

‘Developing Great Maritimepreneur Pelindo 2024’ presents a number of experienced speakers such as Chiko Maradona (Founder & CEO of BISATUMBUH), Adrian Sani Harahap (SM MSE Incubation Telkom), Vici Herlambang (Packaging Expert), Afit Andriadi (President Commissioner & Founder of PT MAI), Oky Prasetya (Sales Director Ciomy), and Romles Simanjuntak (LPS Manager). They delivered materials covering entrepreneurship, packaging, empowering MSEs, sharing success tips, and preparing MSE plasma.

Manager of Monitoring and Reporting Program, Annisa Karimah explained, as an output of this training, Pelindo successfully curated new fostered MSEs and is committed to continuing to upgrade the MSE class through a series of training activities. The next step is to facilitate BPOM and halal certification according to MSE needs.

“In addition, we also help from the marketing side. One of them is through sales at Local Pride Spot and exhibitions, both domestically and abroad,” he explained.

Pelindo hopes that with this training program, UMKs can grow and develop into strong and highly competitive business actors, supporting national economic growth, especially in the maritime sector. (Z-8)
