Giza Governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Irrigation, continues to implement the works of the second and final phase of the development and rehabilitation project Mariouteya Canal; To establish a tourist walkway, parking lots, civilized service stands, kiosks and typical restaurants for young people, similar to the vital projects implemented during the first phase of the project, in implementation of the directives of Major General Ahmed Rashid, Governor of Giza.

“The Seventh Day” explains in the following lines the most important information regarding the second phase of the Mariouteya Canal development.

The second phase of the Mariouteya Canal Development Project is divided into 3 parts, in the area from King Faisal Street to the Sheshini area and the beginning of the Ring Road.

The first part of the second phase is located in the confined area between Al-Haram and Faisal Streets, with a length of 600 square meters. It was completely covered with a completion rate of 100%. After that, it includes a civilized service stand and a station for the new frequent bus. BRT.

The second part of the second phase is located in the confined area between Faisal Street and Dr. Lashin Street, with a length of approximately 720 square meters, and it has been completely covered with a completion rate of 100%, to start constructing parking lots, civil service parking, and model shops and restaurants.

The third part of the second phase is located in the area confined between Dr. Lashin Street and the areas of Al-Shishini and the Ring Road, with a length of 600 square meters. It is now witnessing dredging, lifting waste and purifying the watercourse, with an implementation rate of up to 40%, to start laying the canal and establishing a tourist walkway.
