Mario Rivera has been appointed as the new coach of East Bengal

SC East Bengal have appointed a new coach after going through bad form. The Spanish coach Mario Rivera has been appointed as the new coach. Rivera arrives to replace Jose Manuel Diaz. The club have officially announced that Rivera has joined the team.

“I am happy to appoint Rivera as the head coach and Rivera’s wealth of experience in Indian football will benefit the club,” said East Bengal CEO Shivadi Samardan. Rivera is the coach who helped East Bengal finish second in I-League football two seasons ago. Rivera, 44, has coached the Spanish club Leganൻs’ youth team and the Brunei Under-21 team.

Currently, East Bengal is worried about not finding form in the ISL. East Bengal have not won a single game so far this season after eight matches. East Bengal are bottom of the points table with just four points from eight matches, including four defeats and a draw.

East Bengal will take on Bangalore FC on Tuesday.
