News game Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: no new game announced, but a huge DLC!
“Mario Kart 9” was on many lips last night, during the Nintendo Direct: however, it was not … but that’s not to say that the franchise was ignored. Quite the contrary, since Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was the subject of a very special highlight.
Mario Kart 8 Ultra Mega Deluxe from Deluxe
Rumors intensified, hopes thickened: alas, the Nintendo Direct of this month of February 2022 was not that of Mario Kart 9 (or of Mario Kart 10, it is not clear how to call this game which is, anyway, not yet announced). A little disappointment for some, nevertheless filled quickly by a major news concerning the current opus in force.
Because it’s good to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe what we’re talking regarding: Nintendo’s infallible breath racing game still has some under its elbow… and not just a little. So here is the “Additional Circuits Pass”, a generous DLC including dozens of circuits from the previous instalments of the saga, remastered for the occasion.
We will then find mythical tracks from Mario Kart 64,
Mario Kart : Double Dash, Super Mario Kart(on Super Nintendo), Mario Kart : Super Circuit (on Game Boy Advance), Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart DSor the opus mobile Mario Kart Tour.
48 additional tours, but not free
You have read correctly : this DLC will add no less than 48 bonus tracks, all reworked to stick to the gameplay and technique of the Nintendo Switch. Instead of proposing everything all at once, the firm will proceed methodically : six waves, each with eight different runways, will be rolled out gradually until 2023. The first of them will be launched on March 18 and here is its content :
Wave 1 – Released on March 18, 2022
Golden turbo cup
- Walking in Paris (Mario Kart Tour)
- The Toad Circuit (Mario Kart 7)
- Choco Mountain (Mario Kart 64)
- Coco Supermarket (Mario Kart Wii)
Maneki-neko cup
- Crossing Tokyo (Mario Kart Tour)
- Mushroom Cornice (Mario Kart DS)
- Flying Garden (Mario Kart: Super Circuit)
- Ninja Dojo (Mario Kart Tour)
Nevertheless, everything is paid in this low-world and the “Additional Circuits Pass” will not be free. Two options are then available to you: take out the blue card to make the purchase once morest 24,99 euros, or in benefit directly via the subscription of the Nintendo Switch Online AND its Expansion Pack (39.99 euros per year, let’s remember it).
As a bonus, a trailer that should pull on the nostalgic fiber of many players, to be found in our video player at the beginning of the article.
