Guyanese soprano Marie-Laure Garnier performed on the stage of the concert in Paris, Friday July 14, 2023. During the presentation of the show by Stéphane Bern, she expressed her solidarity with the inhabitants of the Overseas Territories and the ultramarines of France by declaring: “Being from Guyana, I can only share this moment with all the inhabitants of the Overseas Territories and the ultramarines of France.”

At the Paris concert, the greatest classical works by Handel, Beethoven, Puccini, Mozart, Bizet, Berlioz concocted by conductor Cristian Măcelaru are honored by the Orchester National de France, the Choir and the Maîtrise de Radio France with the participation of many international artists and soloists.

Marie-Laure Garner the Guyanese soprano performed “Summertime” by George Gershwin, a lullaby with gospel blues accents.

At the end of the show, she sang the first verse of La Marseillaise among the singers of Radio France, with the Orchester National de France, the Maîtrise and the Chœur de Radio France.
