Marie Audrit-Reding’s nurse suspected of having killed her

Marie Audrit-Reding’s nurse is suspected of having killed her. It was she who rang the authorities on Wednesday, March 1, early in the morning, reporting the violent death of her patient. The charge of the nurse was revealed by our colleagues from Sudinfo. Information that has been confirmed to us.

As a reminder, the lifeless body of the nonagenarian was found in her home in Martelange, route de Bastogne, n°29. Ms. Reding had lived there alone since the death of her husband, Roger Audrit, a well-known local policeman. The couple had no children.

The nurse, Vinciane Welvaert, mother of three children, was placed under the bonds of the arrest warrant on Friday, charged with the count of homicide. It will go to the council chambers on Tuesday morning, which will confirm or not the arrest warrant.

It has been several weeks, and even several months, that the nurse has been taking care of Mrs. Reding who was going to celebrate her 93rd birthday on May 3. A bond of trust was therefore woven between them.

She proclaims her innocence

We contacted Ms. Welvaert’s lawyer, Me Xavier Koener. “At this point, she formally denies the facts of which she is accused“, he declares, preferring not to comment further on the file in the interest of his client.

The investigation, entrusted to the SER of Arlon with the support of the PJA, will have to determine if the nurse is indeed the author of this murder qualified as violent, and what was the motive.
