Maria’s Frustrating Experience: The Pitfalls of Online Shopping at RugOutlet.co.uk

Maria is 81 years old, but she makes purchases on the internet very regularly. She recently purchased two rugs from a Dutch online store. But two months later, the Belgian is disappointed: she still has not received her products. “I fear having been had,” she confides in the columns of HBVL.

Maria ordered her rugs from the rugoutlet.co.uk website. “On August 26, I paid 498 euros. The rugs were supposed to be delivered soon. But all I get is one excuse following another. The carpets are now said to be back in production. I don’t really believe it anymore, they don’t talk regarding reimbursement,” says Maria once more. “I’m so angry with myself for letting myself get caught in the trap,” adds the octogenarian.

And yet, when making her purchase, Maria made sure that the site indicated an address to which she might contact in the event of a problem. And it was the case.

But obviously, in Maria’s case, it would be a combination of circumstances. The online site’s former owner is in hospital for heart surgery, delaying the transfer of information regarding customers, their orders and producers. “For the moment, we will not be able to inform all customers in time,” explain the site managers.

In addition, “due to the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, the delivery of certain rugs is also delayed,” specifies the site. Everything ended well for Maria, who was reimbursed. If she receives the rugs, she can keep them, as compensation for the long wait.
