Mariapfarr has often shown its best side offensively so far in the fall season, but there is still a lot of room for improvement in defense.
The fall season for Mariapfarr will probably last a little longer than planned. After the duel with Flachau last weekend fell victim to the onset of winter, the Lungau team still have two games left. Before the Flachau game is added on November 18th, the home game once morest bottom team Saalbach-Hinterglemm in the 1st Class South is on the agenda on Saturday.
And Mariapfarr coach Peter Bauer still has a lot to do before the winter break: “We want to get six more points, then we can be happy with the fall.” The Lungauers are currently in tenth place with 18 points. Mariapfarr has the fourth best offense in the league with 36 goals, but there is a lack of defense. 34 goals conceded in 14 games is too many. “We have a very young team that of course likes to play forward. Unfortunately, they always neglect the defense. We definitely still have a lot to catch up on,” explains coach Bauer, who sometimes has six or seven 16 to 18-year-old youngsters on the field sends. “Basically, I’m happy with the development of my team.
