Russian Maria Timofeeva has risen from 246th to 129th place in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking, the new version of which published on the organization’s website.

On Sunday, July 23, 19-year-old Timofeeva won her debut WTA tournament in Budapest, defeating Ukrainian Katerina Beindl (6:3, 3:6, 6:0) in the final.

In the WTA championship race, which determines the best athletes of the season, Timofeeva soared 126 positions and became 99th.
