Many names have been given that could take this position, but for Maria Jose Alcala, president of the Mexican Olympic Committee and Rommel Pacheco If he were the chosen one, I would be delighted.
In an interview with Radio Formula, Alcalá said that Pacheco meets the requirements to take charge of Mexican sport.
“Rommel is a young man who lived sport. He is a man who lived for sport and has an academy… He is a boy who thinks differently”, mentioned.
But in the end, “we will be respectful of whoever is appointed and we will work hand in hand,” she said, although she was clear in her request:
“They want to be a team player. When someone says, ‘I don’t see this as a good thing,’ they shouldn’t take it personally. It’s not about subjugating, but about establishing differences and seeking common ground.”

Mexico will seek re-election to the Olympic Committee
Maria Jose Alcala was chosen President of the Mexican Olympic Committee in 2021 and will seek re-election for a new period.
“I am going to ask the Assembly to allow me to continue… A continuation of many things is needed,” he said.
And hopes to improve the relationship with whoever is in charge of Conade: “I believe that with broad, respectful communication and with everyone knowing what needs to be done, sport could develop.”
