Opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has thanked Brazilian President Inácio Lula da Silva for what she calls his “clear position” on recent developments in Venezuela.
“I appreciate the clear position of President Lula da Silva’s government when it demands that the CNE make known each and every voting record, and that they have independent verification that gives confidence to all parties.“, said Maria Corina in an interview with Brazilian media Globo News.
This Monday, August 5, the presidents are expected Gustavo Petro, Manuel Lopez Obrador and Lula da Silvahold a virtual meeting with their counterpart Nicolás Maduro, in which they will address the crisis in Venezuela, to seek a solution to the conflict arising from the election results.
On Monday, the Brazilian president spoke by telephone with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and reiterated his commitment to seek a peaceful solution between the parties so that the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people is respected.
