COVID-19 has changed things for Ms. Picard. Since the pandemic, she says, “we’ve been alone in the studio, whereas before we had our partner […] and we made conversation”.

In addition, she says that at her age, it is more laborious to recover from viruses.

She says she doesn’t know what condition she’d be in if she waited another year, following reporting living with the effects of long-lasting COVID.

“I don’t want to deprive viewers of their favorite show,” she said.

“I admit that I prefer the Quebec version because we don’t make joual at all, on the contrary. We speak in French, but with our accent.

“I find that it transposed the faults of the Americans through ours. We would swear that we are ugly here in Quebec when we watch the show,” she admits.

The actress plays the iconic mother one last time on TVA Nouvelles to offer her happy new year wishes in the video above.

“My dear friends, I’m going to wish you a happy new year, there! Take the time to have fun, to laugh, to dance, huh! And even if you have nothing to do, have fun anyway!” she orders cheerfully.
