Marco Streller is turning his back on FC Basel. At his own request, he is stepping down as a member of the sports commission at the end of the season. «I will remain connected to FC Basel forever. The club has accompanied me practically my entire life so far and will continue to do so in the future,” Streller is quoted as saying in a published statement.
And further: “After my playing career, I was able to take on several roles at the club and always enjoyed working with the many great people in the office. Now, following the many wonderful years at Rotblau, I would like to concentrate more on other projects, such as the “Padelwerk” or my involvement with blue.”
The club said in the statement: “The FCB would like to thank you very much for the many years of great cooperation with its former player, captain and then valued colleagues in the office. We wish you nothing but the best for your future, Marco.”
In addition to Streller, the FCB sports commission includes six other people, including David Degen, Martin Andermatt, Valentin Stocker and Ruedi Zbinden.
