Marco Rubio could be Donald Trump’s vice president

Cuban-American Senator Marco Rubio is part of the long list of candidates to occupy the vice presidency of the United States following the upcoming votes. Of course, this would only happen if Donald Trump returns to the White House.

If the Republican candidate wins the elections next November, he would strongly consider seeking support from a right-hand man like Marco Rubio. They commented on the subject to NBC several sources close to Trump. “Rubio, representative of Florida, is moving up the list of candidates.”

A few days ago, on March 13, Trump told Newsmax that he already has the election “in his brain” but will not announce it. “We’re going to elect someone who is really good, really conservative; love law and order, low taxes, low interest rates and borders.”

In that own interview with NBC, Trump assured that there are around 15 people candidates for the position of vice president. “The list is long and it is still premature in any type of process. “No one has been contacted directly yet and I don’t expect that to happen for some time.”

The Constitution prohibits

If this idea finally comes to fruition, the Constitution’s prohibition on voting for a president and vice president of the same state must be overcome. “The electors will meet in their respective states and vote for two people, at least one of whom will not be an inhabitant of the same state as themselves.” This is exactly what Article II establishes in Section I, Clause 3.

Everything seems to indicate that, if the case arises, Rubio is in the orbit of the White House. He is, in fact, one of Donald Trump’s favorites to occupy the second chair, in Washington DC

24 years ago, Dick Cheney, originally from Texas, changed his residence to Wyoming so he might be vice president under George W. Bush.
