Four races, four victories for Marco Odermatt, it was clear who was the top favorite in the night giant slalom in Schladming. But something happened that is not known from Odermatt this season in this discipline: the 26-year-old made a major mistake. He made a mistake on the inside ski, slipped and was lucky enough to catch the next goal. The man from Nidwalden wasn’t eliminated, but he lost time. So much so that he only starts the second round in eleventh place.

«I have to be happy that I can drive a second time. With this buck I’m at least still within range, that’s okay. I had a bit of trouble with my eyesight during this night race. It’s a new starting point for me, I’m not used to it. But it will certainly be a full-scale attack, as always,” said Odermatt on SRF.

Manuel Feller leads

Loïc Meillard did better, the Neuchâtel resident had the second best time, only the Austrian Manuel Feller was faster. Gino Caviezel was eliminated. “I don’t know exactly what happened yet. I still have to analyze it. “Basically, my journey up until the failure wasn’t bad,” said the Graubünden native.
