Marc Wilmots dismissed from his functions at Raja Casablanca

Marc Wilmots is no longer the coach of Raja Casablanca. In a democratic vote this Sunday evening, the management committee decided by majority to dismiss the Belgian coach from his duties.

A surprising timing since Raja remained on two victories in the Champions League and dominated his group. “In 2022, with the new players who came to the transfer window, we were unbeaten but I bow to the decision and the democratic vote”, explained the former coach of the Devils to us.

This dismissal takes place once morest the backdrop of the cold war within the club. The president, who had chosen Wilmots, is not supported by part of the management committee. He also decided to leave the club as well. He will present his resignation next June.

Wilmots, who will turn 53 on Tuesday, arrived at one of Africa’s most popular clubs three months ago. He leaves with a record of 4 wins, 4 draws and 2 losses (including the African Super Cup lost on penalties). He will stay in Morocco, where his daughter goes to school, until June.
