Marc Tarabella to be released under electronic bracelet in the Qatargate scandal

Marc Tarabella, the MEP, will be allowed to leave jail and be under electronic surveillance at home as per the decision of the Brussels indictment chamber. Antoon Schotsaert, the spokesperson for the federal prosecutor’s office, confirmed the news. Tarabella’s spokesperson also confirmed the news in a press release expressing relief. Tarabella has always claimed his innocence, denying ever receiving any gifts or money for his opinions.

The MEP will be able to leave prison and return to his home, under electronic surveillance. His spokesperson confirms the information.

Lhe Brussels indictment chamber decided on Tuesday to allow Marc Tarabella to be detained under the modality of the electronic bracelet, the spokesman for the federal prosecutor’s office, Antoon Schotsaert, told Belga. The MEP will therefore be able to leave prison and return to his home, under electronic surveillance. His spokesperson confirms the information.

“We have just learned with relief of the imminent release of Marc Tarabella. He remains of course at the disposal of the investigators and the examining magistrate if, by chance, they feel they need further information, ”indicates his spokesperson in a short press release. “Recall that Marc Tarabella has always pleaded his innocence; he also always said he had nothing to reproach himself for and never received money or gifts in exchange for his opinions”.

The decision for Marc Tarabella to be detained under electronic surveillance brings new developments to the ongoing Qatargate scandal.
