Editor: Welcome, Marc! Congratulations on your stunning victory at the Australian GP! What a race it was. Can you take us through your experience on the track?
Marc Marquez: Thank you! It feels amazing to win in Australia. The beginning was tough for me; I had a bad start and dropped to seventh place. But I stayed focused and didn’t give up. I knew I had to fight my way back and that’s what I did.
Editor: You certainly did! After falling behind early on, what was going through your mind to keep pushing forward?
Marc Marquez: I just kept reminding myself of the pace I had and trusted my bike. I made some aggressive moves and, as the laps went on, I managed to overtake some of the riders in front of me. When I got to Martin and Bagnaia, I knew it was my chance to secure the lead.
Editor: The battle between you and Jorge Martin was intense. What was it like racing so closely against him?
Marc Marquez: It was exhilarating! Jorge is a fantastic racer, and battling him pushed me to my limits. We were really close on several occasions, and I had to stay calm and calculated in my moves. It’s always thrilling to race against top competitors.
Editor: Despite your slow start, you ended up finishing strong. How important was this win for your season?
Marc Marquez: This win is crucial for my confidence and our fight in the championship. Every point matters, and to come out on top, especially in such a challenging race, gives me and the team the motivation we need as we head into the final races of the season.
Editor: What’s next for you and the team as you prepare for the upcoming races?
Marc Marquez: We’ll analyze this race, see what worked and what didn’t, and keep pushing forward. There’s still a lot to do, but with this momentum, I feel like we’re in a good position to keep fighting for the title.

Marc Marquez: Thank you! I appreciate it.
That’s a fantastic mindset. You mentioned a fierce battle with Jorge Martin towards the end. Can you describe that final showdown for the lead?
Marc Marquez: Absolutely. The last few laps were incredibly intense. Jorge and I were exchanging positions; it felt like we were pushing each other to the limit. I could see every opportunity to overtake, and I had to be strategic. In the final two laps, I managed to make that decisive move. It was a thrilling moment, and I’m glad I was able to pull it off and take the win!
Editor: It was indeed a spectacular finish! How important is this victory for your season and your team’s morale?
Marc Marquez: Very important. This win not only boosts my confidence but also that of the whole Gresini Racing team. We have been working hard all season, and these moments remind us why we put in all that effort. It feels great to be back on the podium, especially after some challenging races earlier this year.
Editor: Speaking of challenges, you’re racing on such varied circuits. How does the Phillip Island track compare to others you’ve raced on?
Marc Marquez: Phillip Island is unique with its fast corners and elevation changes. It demands a lot from both the rider and the bike. The winds can be tricky too, but the layout is just fantastic for racing. You feel the thrill at every turn.
Editor: Looking ahead, what are your goals for the rest of the season?
Marc Marquez: I want to keep this momentum going! My goal is to consistently finish on the podium and perhaps challenge for a couple more wins. It’s all about building on this success and pushing for a strong finish to the season.
