Gresini Racing Federal Oil RACER Marc Marquez wants to continue his optimal performance at the Australian GP, Sunday (20/10), after successfully winning a double podium in the 16th MotoGP series in Japan, last weekend.
The eight-time MotoGP world champion managed to show the best performance on the Ducati Desmosedici GP23 motorbike to achieve third podium in the main race of the Japanese GP, Sunday (6/10). The day before, Marquez also won third place on the podium in the sprint race session.
“I started well. In general it was a good opening lap and a kind of boring race because of the lack of overtaking,” said Marc Marquez in a press release, Wednesday (9/10).

“I have to stay focused because I could make a mistake that could cost me the podium.”
“Now is the time to take a short rest and recharge for the next triple header (three races outside Europe),” continued the racer nicknamed Baby Alien, referring to preparations for the Australian GP at Phillip Island.
On the other hand, Alex Marquez, who did not finish at the Motegi Circuit because he slipped in a corner, stated that he would improve his performance at Phillip Island.

“I made a mistake at Turn 11 which caused me to leave the track and when I tried to return to my position, I collided with Joan Mir, which caused an accident,” said Alex.
“Our motorbikes collided with each other and I apologize to him for what happened,” he added.
Marc Marquez is still in fourth place in the MotoGP standings with 311 points, while Alex Marquez is in 12th position with 124 points.
The Australian GP, which is a triple header (three races outside Europe) will start on 18-20 October at the Phillip Island Circuit, then continue to Thailand on 25-27 October and Malaysia on 1-3 November. (Ant/Z-1)
