The Gresini Racing Federal Oil MotoGP Team is optimistic that Marc Marquez can perform optimally to reach the podium in the 11th series, the Austrian GP at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Sunday (18/8) evening.

Marc Marquez showed promising performance in the qualifying session by placing his bike in the third starting position, after Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia on the front row. Meanwhile, Alex Marquez started the race from the fourth row.

Marquez, who was supported by a reliable team of mechanics from Gresini Racing Federal Oil, was able to maximize the performance of the Ducati Desmosedici GP23 to achieve a time of 1 minute 28.292 seconds, 0.544 seconds behind the Ducati Desmosedici GP24 ridden by Jorge Martin as the pole position winner.

“We met the target and tried to get the bike’s speed to perform consistently in the laps during FP2. I didn’t expect to start on the front row, I thought I would be on the second row. But in the last minute of the session, the bike rode well and sharpened the time record,” said Marc Marquez in the official Federal Oil broadcast, Sunday (18/8).

Marc Marquez had lost momentum to reach position 2 after Jorge Martin was given a penalty. Fortunately Marc Marquez was able to control the Ducati Desmosedici GP23 well to maintain his position and return to the pit.

“Unfortunately, I felt good on the bike and I was not at the limit. Overall, we are still confident and
“We are comfortable with our chances for the next race, where we will try to avoid mistakes while going as fast as possible,” said Marc Marquez.

Marc’s younger brother, who is also a Gresini Racing rider, Alex Marquez will start the race from 11th position on the fourth row to maintain his chances of getting points from the Austrian GP.
