The doctors have given the green light: the eight-time world champion will be present this weekend at the GP of the Americas, in Austin.
His spectacular fall in the warm-up of the Indonesian GP, a little over two weeks ago, had consequences: Marc Márquez suffered once more, like last fall, from diplopia (double vision). Forced to withdraw in Argentina, the Spaniard will resume service on a circuit where he has always won… except once, that of COTA, near Austin.
The doctors gave the green light and, on Monday, Márquez covered a few laps of the Alcarras circuit, riding a Honda CBR600RR: “Of course I’m very happy to be back, especially on one of my favorite circuits. No matter the situation, I always take great pleasure in riding in Texas, where I have great memories. We will have work to do following losing the Argentinian weekend and that’s why I don’t want to set myself a specific goal in terms of performance. The most important thing is to be back,” explains Marc Márquez.
