Marc-Andrea Hüsler’s Early Exit at Swiss Open: Analysis and Results

2023-07-17 17:05:33

Marc-Andrea Hüsler (ATP 84) will not have remained long in the table of the Swiss Open of Gstaad. The Zurich man stumbled in the first round once morest the Austrian Jurij Rodionov (ATP 118) 6-3 7-5 in 75′.

Like his compatriot Alexander Ritschard earlier in the day, Hüsler will therefore have spent a little over an hour on the court. And like last year, he failed to qualify for the round of 16. In 2022, it was Dominic Stricker who had blocked his way.

During the first set, the 27-year-old left-hander gave up his serve once despite 60% of first serves passed. In the second set, Hüsler held the shock well until the 11th game. At 5-5, the Zurich player almost offered the break to an opponent who did not ask for so much.

Unable to get any break point, Hüsler ended up losing 7-5 leaving the last four points of the game to Rodionov.
