The three-time Stanley Cup champion will be on his fourth team in the National Hockey League (NHL).

In return, the Blackhawks get their hands on a conditional second-round pick.

At 37, Fleury has earned 19 wins in 45 games since the start of the season while maintaining a 2.95 goals- once morest average and a .908 save percentage.

Last year, he won the Vézina Trophy awarded to the best goaltender in the NHL.

A healthy process

The last time Fleury had left his team, there had been several frictions.

Indeed, the Vegas Golden Knights had sent the Quebecer to Chicago in July 2021, despite the fact that he was the first face of the franchise and that he carried the team to a Stanley Cup final. . No one in Fleury’s entourage had been informed of the transaction.

This time, with the Blackhawks, things went well. Journalist Frank Seravilli said the caretaker was briefed before the deal became official. He would have been involved in all stages of the process.

Rumor has it that Fleury refused to be involved in trades with the Washington Capitals and Edmonton Oilers.
