Marano‘s 118 Service: A Return to Form or Just a Fumble?

Well, well, well! It seems like the citizens of Marano have something to cheer about, assuming they can make it to a celebratory gathering before the ambulances arrive! In a thrilling twist of fate (and possibly quite a bit of paperwork), the 118 service is back in town, housed in the former “Trovamici” premises on via Paolo Purse. And you know what that means: prompt medical attention is just a siren away! Let’s give a round of applause for Mayor Matteo Morra, who, after a bureaucratic tango that saw more twists than a soap opera, managed to approve the resolution in the last city council meeting.

“I thank the entire civic assembly,” the Mayor declared, sounding like a politician on a daytime talk show. It’s all good news for the citizens and healthcare workers, but can we get a moment of silence for those who had to wade through the bureaucratic quicksand? Talk about a slow-motion race to the finish line!

A Little History Lesson: Trovamici to the Rescue!

Now, let’s take a stroll down memory lane, shall we? The premises of the “Trovamici,” which opened a decade and a few years ago under the reign of former mayor Salvatore Perrotta, once served as an idyllic haven for the elderly of the area. Imagine it: bingo nights, tea parties, and lively discussions on the best way to complain about the weather. However, what started as a beacon of community spirit eventually spiraled into an unceremonious storage space for urban hygiene—because nothing screams “healthcare service” like a former junkyard!

Talk about a glow-up! For a while, it was just sitting there, looking sad, like a deflated balloon at a kid’s birthday party. But fear not, locals! The 118 service, which had been operating out of the health district’s premises in via Falcone, is now breathing new life into this humble abode. They say ‘out with the old and in with the new,’ which is great—unless you’re the old service still waiting for your ambulance to show up!

A Broadening Horizon: No Ambulance Left Behind!

According to the latest buzz from the local health company, the 118 team was in dire need of a space to operate where the volunteers could regularly crash (not literally—this isn’t a frat party). The fears of losing ambulances to another municipality—yes, that’s right, perhaps someone thought a road trip could serve as an alternative to health emergencies—seems to be fading. How uplifting! Talk about dodging a bullet. Or an ambulance, in this case!

Meanwhile, over in nearby Qualiano, it looks like they’re flexing their healthcare muscles too, having inaugurated their own station two years ago. So what’s the takeaway? Marano is not just holding onto the ambulances; they might just be establishing a healthcare revolution in the making! Such ambition from local governments is usually reserved for elaborate schemes involving bike lanes or trendy cafes. But hey, if it leads to faster response times, let’s preemptively give them a round of applause before we even see how they execute it!

Conclusion: Is It Really All Smooth Sailing?

The question remains, will the local healthcare service be enough to keep the citizens of Marano healthy and happy? Are we embarking on a new dawn of fast-response medical services, or are we just setting the stage for the next bureaucratic comedy? Whatever happens, we’re here for the ride, because if there’s one thing we know, it’s that in healthcare, it’s always more fun to watch the show than to stare at the paperwork.

So here’s to Mayor Morra and his merry band of bureaucratic warriors—a salute to your valiant effort! Let’s hope your next administrative mission doesn’t involve navigating the same labyrinthine halls of paperwork. Otherwise, it looks like we might need that 118 service sooner rather than later!

The location of 118 she is safe. Healthcare workers will be hosted on the premises of the former “Trovamici” in via Paolo Purse. To announce it, during the last session of City councilthe mayor of the city Matteo Morra: «I thank the entire civic assembly – explains the mayor – for having approved the resolution which makes a municipal asset available for the 118 service which, fortunately, will remain in our territory. Good for citizens and healthcare workers. We could have approved it earlier – adds the mayor of Marano – but the bureaucratic process was troubled. Our administration, in any case, wants to guarantee as many services as possible to residents of our municipality».

INSIGHTS

The premises of the former “Trovamici” were inaugurated years ago, around 2007-2008fromformer mayor Salvatore Perrotta. For a couple of years it was a point of reference for the elderly in the area, the one close to the populous peripheral hamlet of San Rocco and via Borsellino. After a few years it was used as a warehouse for the companies that, over the years, managed the urban hygiene service in the area. For some time, however, the small structure had been in a semi-abandoned condition.

The 118 station was hosted for many years in the premises of the health district in via Falcone. In recent times, however, on the basis of an internal reorganization of the ASL, it was decided to deploy two ambulances in the municipality of Qualiano, where a new headquarters has recently been built and is still operational. The ambulances and their operators are busy not only in the Marano area, but also in the neighboring municipalities of Calvizzano, Mugnano, Villaricca and Melito.

The local health company – according to what was reported at the time by the 118 staff – also needed to find the premises in Marano where the volunteers were hosted. With the identification of a new structure, however, the scenario of transferring ambulances to another municipality – those supplied to Marano – seems to have faded.

In Qualiano, however, the station for health emergency operators was inaugurated two years ago. The activation of the station was the result of an agreement signed between the municipal administration and the top management ofAsl Naples 2 north. The premises are located in via Vicinale Chiantano, in the space of the former municipal reservoir. In that area, in the adjacent rooms, the employees of the city health company have also been on duty for some time.
