More than 440,000 Romanians who had declared their last residence abroad returned to the country, according to the data of the Population Census, consulted by HotNews.

More than half of them are people in the 25-55 age group, a fifth are children, and the rest are people 55+, according to the data analyzed by HotNews. Most are men, and most of the returnees are from urban areas.
Most came from Italy, Spain and the UK, according to INS data, but we also have Romanians from Denmark, Cyprus, Syria or Israel. The list is below:
As for the counties where the newcomers declared their residence, most settled in Bucharest, followed by Suceava, Cluj and Iași.
