The Coalition of Regional Tables of Community Organizations (CTROC), which is established in 16 administrative regions of the province, wishes to recall the importance of these organizations to the Government of Quebec.

“For too long, organizations have been taken for granted by the Quebec government. Due to the pandemic and the shortage of manpower, the underfunding that affects them has increased, which dramatically reduces their ability to meet the urgent needs of the population,” said the co. -CTROC spokesperson, Claudelle Cyr, in a press release.

“It is time for the government to take the situation seriously and increase funding for the mission of all groups,” she added.

His colleague Benoit Larocque affirms for his part that the organizations “are on the edge of the abyss”.

“What will happen to these precious spaces for mutual aid and empowerment for the citizens of our regions? It is urgent to better support them in order to promote local democracy, and not to forget their great contribution to the social and economic vitality of a multitude of localities, which makes our towns and villages more united, ”claims Mr. Larocque. .
