The committee also recommended inviting the National Wages Council to attend a meeting with the Manpower Committee to discuss some matters pertaining to workers in the private sector and the social packages applied to them, and to discuss any obstacles to implementing the minimum wage, following Eid al-Fitr.

This came following the committee discussed briefing requests regarding the application of the minimum wage for workers in the private sector, in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Planning. The committee called on the Ministry of Planning to address the National Wage Council to quickly amend the minimum wage in the private sector, similar to what was done for government workers, the state’s administrative apparatus, and workers in public sector companies. And the public business sector.

Representative Adel Abdel Fadil, Chairman of the Manpower Committee in the House of Representatives, stressed that the committee is keen on the rights of all workers, whether those working in the state or those working in the private sector, pointing out that the political leadership favors the workers and decided to increase the minimum wage for state workers to 6,000 thousand pounds in support of them. In the face of economic and social conditions and overcoming the burdens of living, the private sector is expected to study the possibility of increasing the minimum wage for workers to improve their financial conditions and ease the burdens on them.

Members of the Manpower Committee stressed the need to increase the minimum wage for workers in the private sector, similar to government workers in the state administrative apparatus, local units, public sector companies, and the business sector. They pointed out the need for the Ministry of Labor to follow up on implementing the minimum wage in accordance with the recent decision of the National Wage Council.

In a related context, the Manpower Committee of the House of Representatives, headed by Representative Adel Abdel Fadil, opened the file on the conditions of workers in the textile sector, and discussed the possibility of continuing health insurance service for them. It held a meeting on Sunday evening, in the presence of Major General Gamal Awad, head of the National Authority for Social Insurance, and Dr. Muhammad Dahi. , Chairman of the General Authority for Health Insurance, to discuss the response of the Ministry of Public Business Sector to the committee’s recommendations regarding the textile sector, and to ensure that its employees receive health insurance services, and to discuss the recommendations issued by the committee to the ministries of: Health and Population, Social Solidarity, and the Public Business Sector, regarding topics Briefing requests discussed during the current fourth session.

The committee requested that it be provided with a copy of the protocols concluded between the National Social Insurance Authority and the Holding Company for the Textile Sector regarding the agreement to exchange plots of land owned by the Holding Company to pay the debt owed to the National Social Insurance Authority.

It also recommended that the committee be provided with a statement explaining the plan of the Ministry of Public Business Sector to invest the funds it obtained from the National Social Insurance Authority based on the concluded protocols, and the plan of the Holding Company for the Textile Sector to solve all the problems facing textile workers, given that the committee is entrusted with labor affairs. In all sectors, their main concern is solving the problems they face in order to increase production and investments, and achieve family stability for them.

The meeting also discussed the response of the Ministry of Public Business Sector to the recommendations issued by the Manpower Committee regarding the field visit to textile companies, in the previous session. The committee recommended the necessity of holding a meeting between the three parties (the National Authority for Social Insurance), (the General Authority for Health Insurance), (Holding Company for Textile Companies) to resolve the tangle between the textile sector and health insurance to solve the problem of workers, and provide health insurance services for them, provided that the discussion is continued to present what has been done regarding this problem in the upcoming meetings.
