Manon, an 11-year-old girl tells you regarding her fight once morest leukemia – Photo credit: DR.
At the age of 8, Manon faced the difficult battle once morest leukemia, the most common cancer among children. For three whole years, this little warrior faced the disease with unfailing determination.
As her mother Anne shared, Manon has today triumphed over the illness and overcome the cancer. This young artist has returned to a “normal” life, returning to the rhythm of school, surrounded by her friends and family. For a few minutes, Manon looks back on these three years of struggle, a period following which she can finally shout the famous “Win” of Margo’s message.
Dive into this young warrior’s inspiring testimony by watching the video below:
Like Manon, every year, 1,500 children under the age of 15 are diagnosed with cancer.
At the start of 2024, we all have the power to act and offer hope of healing to children fighting illness.
Childhood cancer in a few words
Cancer remains the leading cause of death from disease among children over one year old in France and Europe. Annually, it is estimated that 2,500 young warriors in France (35,000 in Europe) are affected by this disease. For 20% of them, progress in research represents the only hope. Furthermore, it is estimated that 2/3 of cured children will suffer serious side effects throughout their lives.
It is facing this reality that Imagine for Margo acts on a daily basis. Founded in 2011 by Patricia and Olivier Blanc, the association pursues four essential missions:
Since its creation, Imagine for Margo has allocated more than 20 million euros to research once morest childhood cancer, co-financed 51 innovative programs, raised awareness among millions of French people, mobilized numerous public actors to advance the cause (European cancer plan , etc.) and organized thousands of events to support children.
It is by continuing to act together that we will be able to build a world with cancer-free children.
