Manjhi’s meeting with Shah comes at a time when Janata Dal (United) leader Kumar is trying to forge an alliance once morest the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-led coalition in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. This election was fought by JD(U) and BJP together.
