Manjhi met Amit Shah

Manjhi’s meeting with Shah came in the wake of his party’s demand that Dashrath Manjhi be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour. Dashrath Manjhi had made a road by digging the mountains in two decades. A film has also been made on his achievement. After his meeting with Shah, he also reached out to Nitish to dispel any notion that he might do a ‘U-turn’ once more. In view of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP is engaged in helping small parties in Bihar.

Demand to give Bharat Ratna to Dashrath Manjhi, Ex CM Jitan Ram will meet Amit Shah, so why did the political temperature rise?

Boaters are in turn!

Manjhi, who was handpicked by Nitish Kumar for the chief minister’s post following the JD(U)’s crushing defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, rebelled in 2015 when it came to handing over the chair to Kumar and joined hands with the BJP. He was part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-led coalition in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. This election was fought by JD(U) and BJP together. Jitan Ram Manjhi has a lot of influence in the ‘Manjhi’ community in some parts of Bihar.
