The organizers of the Manizales Fair Superconcert announced the event cancellation which was scheduled for Saturday, January 6 at the Palogrande stadium. The main reason, according to them, is the lack of ticket sales.
The artists that were confirmed were: Calibre 50, Pipe Bueno, Joaquín Guiller, Jhon Alex Castaño, Charrito Negro, Paola Jara, Luis Alberto Posada, Francy and Alzate.
HOMELAND spoke with Rafael Pedrazapromoter of the concert to learn more regarding the reasons for the cancellation: “There are times when one has to recognize one’s mistakes, my mistake was getting into this one month left. Selling in such a short time is complicated. Plus such a big concert“.
Pedraza also referred to the fact that this event I had two problems: “The first was the cancellation of Featherweight and the second, we realized two weeks ago that we were doing the launch and it is the unfortunately environment of the administration. They never gave me shit, but they were causing problems as if the event was organized by them. “and this is a private resolution and no one gives me a cent, that’s also why I’m canceling it.”
Ticket office
The promoter’s main reason for the cancellation was ticket sales. Until Wednesday, decision day, only 4.6 of the break-even point had been sold. “If I continue, I’m going to lose more or less $1.7 billion,” he said.
Artists
The organizer also referred to the artists who were confirmed: “They already have the advances, I spoke with each one and they understood. Fortunately, my artists are understanding and there will be a plan B that is regarding to be announced so that people who want to see them can enjoy them, but not such a big thing anymore.
Message
Rafael Pedraza, promoter of the concert, wants to leave a message to the city: “I want to tell the city that I am not one for cancellations.but I want you to understand that in this case I got into this with a month left and I should have said no. There is one month left and that is a fixed bankruptcy, Outside of that there is the cancellation of Featherweight on top. I messed it up even though I had the support of everyone, the current Mayor’s Office, the incoming Mayor’s Office and the Licorera, but yesterday everyone realized it and in their support they were also aware that I was going to lose a lot of money.”
From the liquor store
Jaime Valencia, manager (e) of the ILC, indicated that The reasons for the cancellation of that concert are unknown.. He clarified that the Licorera sponsors, but does not design or execute the concert, that is the task of the Mayor’s Office.
The promised
For this edition of the Manizales Fair Superconcert, the Mexican artist Peso Pluma had already been announced, but it was later announced that it would be cancelled. Furthermore, on the day of the presentation of the Manizaleños’ main event, Yeison Jiménez had been announced and was never confirmed.
