Bollywood star Manisha Koirala recently reached out to Princess Kate Middleton, expressing her best wishes following their shared experiences with cancer. In her heartfelt message, Koirala, who is 54 years old, shared her admiration for Kate, especially in light of her own journey through the disease.
“I wanted to reach out to HRH The Princess of Wales to send my good wishes, particularly due to my own experiences,” Koirala revealed in an interview with a Nepalese publication, as translated by Hello! Magazine on Tuesday, October 29. “I am deeply heartened to receive such a warm response from her and wish her the very best of health.”
Manisha Koirala, a well-respected figure in Bollywood, was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in 2012 and has undergone extensive treatment since then. Recently, she visited London to lend her support to fellow cancer patients at Ovacome, an ovarian cancer charity focused on advocacy and assistance.
“I want to use my voice to not only support cancer patients but also to raise awareness about the need for equitable healthcare access and the importance of knowing the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer,” Koirala expressed. “Having faced cancer myself, I know how isolating and challenging the journey can be, and I believe it is essential that we all play a part in changing that reality for others.”

Princess Kate Middleton is showing appreciation for her many well-wishers following the announcement of her cancer diagnosis. On Tuesday, April 9, a user on X shared the heartfelt note she received from Kensington Palace after sending a thoughtful card to the 42-year-old royal. ”Thank you for your kind well wishes to Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales,” the note read, reinforcing Kate’s gratitude during her challenging time.
Ovacome’s official social media platforms shared video footage of Koirala as she arrived at the charity’s offices. Two members of Ovacome were present to share their personal experiences with the actress, emphasizing the importance of community support.
“We spoke about the work we do to support those affected by ovarian cancer, as well as our goal to reduce health inequalities,” the Ovacome statement elaborated, also noting that Koirala has released a book detailing her own cancer journey, titled Healed.
Details of the conversation between Kate, 42, and Koirala remain under wraps, but it is confirmed that the Princess of Wales did respond thoughtfully to the actress’ kind message.
Earlier this year, Kate revealed that she was undergoing a course of chemotherapy after receiving a diagnosis of an undisclosed type of cancer. Since completing her treatment, the royal has shared that she is on a “long” path toward recovery, demonstrating her resilience amidst adversity.
