Manicure and nail art trends for this fall

As I have confessed that I am passionate about makeup and, especially, eye shadows, I think that as a beauty editor I have never confessed my other “guilty pleasure.”
manicuras and, specifically, manicures with nail art. I am a true fan of manicure trends and, I must admit, that both on Pinterest and Instagram I have specific folders where I upload designs that I then show in the nail salon to recreate them. Also, I can confess and I do confess that I have not repeated nail art in five years (because yes, I have decided that nail art is the hallmark of my manicures).

That said, and with autumn about to begin, I already have my
Upcoming manicures for the seasonbut first we have to ask the experts what we will see in the next season. Who better to know the trends than the nail salons? Lara López, CEO of Le Salon Nails and Sofya Khasanova, co-owner of Siberia Salon, give us the keys to filing methods, colors, nail arts and celebrities to keep an eye on.

Color trends in manicures

Every season has its own specific and most popular manicure colors, and in autumn, seasonal colors such as orange, burgundy, green or more intense blue are often chosen. Beyond these, there are colors that will be trendy during those months. For Sofya Khasanova, “the trendy colors for autumn 2024 in manicure include
warm and intense tones “which harmonize perfectly with the natural colors of this time of year.”

The expert highlights colours such as “deep burgundy, deep emerald, warm brown, dark mustard tones and terracotta.” Khasanova adds that “these colours not only create a cosy autumn atmosphere, but also
add elegance and sophistication to the look». For her part, Lara López from Le Salon Nails believes that within the range of browns we will continue to see «glazed donuts» and that we will also see «many nudes and perfect nails in natural colours, closely related to autumn».

Shapes and length of manicures

Despite being in the reign of short nails, this season
The long one will make its appearance againhighlighting Le Salon Nails’ “oval nails.” Siberia Salon believes that this season we will see “almond-shaped nails, an option that not only visually lengthens the fingers, but also gives the hands an elegant and well-groomed look.”

Khasanova also adds that “it is important to remember that when choosing the shape of the nails, we must take into account
the type of nail each one has “It depends on us, since not all shapes fit everyone equally well.” She adds that “lately, the trend in nail length has changed considerably. Now, the most popular and in-demand length is short and semi-long. Extra-long nails that used to be in fashion have taken a backseat, giving way to more practical and natural styles.”

Nail arts that we will see in autumn

As I said, I haven’t repeated nail art for five years, what will we see this year? Sofya Khasanova points out that “the trends of autumn 2024 include not only colors, but also various design solutions. One of the main trends will be minimalism with a
focus on geometric shapes and abstract designs. The co-founder of Siberia Nails adds that another of the big trends will be “matte manicures because they look spectacular. Whether in burgundy, emerald green or terracotta tones, the matte finish gives a modern and chic look that never goes unnoticed.”

Lara Lopez of Le Salon Nails highlights “the
gradient and ombré techniques“, Khasanova agrees, adding that “they allow for a smooth transition from one shade to another. This technique looks especially impressive with autumnal colours such as latte manicures.”

As for prints, the expert highlights “the
leopard print It has become incredibly popular, not only in clothes, but also in manicures! This bold and glamorous design is perfect for those who want to stand out and add a wild touch to their look. She also considers “3D or embossed designs” and explains that “among the most popular styles are ornaments inspired by natural elements such as giving the embossed effect to designs with dried leaves, branches and miniature flowers, which capture the essence of autumn.” These designs also “allow you to play with geometric and abstract shapes popular in autumn 2024.”

Celebrities to follow

Social media is a strong inspiration for manicures, but we can’t forget about celebrities. Manicurists like
Tom Bachik o Betina R. Goldstein share their manicures with famous people. Which ones do the experts think are the ones that set the standard?

For Lara López the reference celebrities are “María Pombo and, of course,
Hailey Bieber “which has given birth to her XXL French manicure.” Khasanova says that “several celebrities stand out as references in the world of manicures, influencing global trends.”

The professional mentions
Kylie Jenner for “her long, decorated nails” because “she sets trends with bold and creative designs, from vibrant colors to 3D details.” Rihanna who “is always innovative and surprises with manicures that range from the minimalist to the most extravagant, reflecting her unique and avant-garde style.” And finally,
Dua Lipa which “has popularized nails with geometric designs, neon lights and graphic details, combining modernity with a touch of nineties nostalgia.”
